My most recent design is a poster for a haunted house my dance crew and I put together to raise funds for our LA trip that’s coming up.

It was a really exciting project because I don’t really do many dark & scary designs. The challenge was to make it scary enough to make people want to come but not too gruesome or disturbing. I also had only a few days to do it and didn’t have time to use photography so I had to illustrate it.

Here’s what I came up with…

Created the shapes in Adobe Illustrator, then moved it over to photoshop to make it more grungy. Little girls are ALWAYS scary and demons are the theme for most movies these days so those are the elements I chose. I used red of course to add harshness to the look.

It was a great turn out for two weeks of preparation and had great reviews about the scare factor. Here’s my team in action:
